I need a trailer for a 38' Scarab ASAP
 

I just bought a Miami Vice edition Scarab KV in Miami, but it doesn't come with a trailer. I'm in Mississippi so I've got to find a good, used trailer somewhere between here and there so I can go get it and start the resto ASAP. Anyone got a lead? thanks!

should be able to find on down here, check Miami craiglist, there was a 40', I hope you have deep pockets, the boat is ruff, I was all over it, you will have to remove the fuel tank, who know what condition and whats in there????

I've got an 18000lb aluminum triaxial trailer w/ electric over hydraulic brakes in SE Texas just north of Houston.
It has 2 mounted spare tires, toolbox, and an electric jack on the tongue. It's in excellent condition.
It's bunked for a Baja 38 special no step hull.

Cheapest I've found for a new aluminum trailer on 6-lug, 15" wheels with brakes is $5500. Hoping to stay around $3-4k otherwise I might as well get a new one. :/

I've weighed this out, by the time you put 6 new tires, new brakes, and service the bearings on a 3-4k trailer (usually at that price these items are ok but not new) you will be over $5500. If there is anyway to scrape together the extra $1500 I would. But trust me I've been there when I can't get another $150!!! So I know sometimes you can only get what you can get!

Money isn't really the problem. Just don't like to spend it if I don't have to. :)

I hear ya, I just hate to spend it when you have to, or have to when you can't! I.E. flat tire or smoked bearings at 3 am

It seems I have two options for a new trailer.

I can get a 15000lb gvwr aluminum trailer with brakes on all 3 axles and LED lights for either $5900 or $6450. The $5900 option is using 35', 7.5" I-beams with the bunks making up the extra length or for $6450 I can get one made using 8" I-beams 40ft long.

I'm told the boat will be balanced and pull fine either way, but the shorter I-beams and longer bunks will mean the axles will be almost all the way back on the trailer and it'll just look odd.

Thoughts?

Axles further back will reduce overhang and back swing, but will increase turning radius and most likely tongue weigh
