I am also looking for a pair of bolsters and stands, I am no too concerned with the color since they will be covered. New, Used doesn't matter, the condition does though. Keep me update. Thanks.

The ones on the Avanti had ROTTEN wood, I mean to the point that when I pulled the covers all that was left was mulch. Before I took the covers off I carefully measured and patterend. Broke out the radial arm saw, went to Menards for some exterior ply 3/4 and had a new set made in an afternoon covered with 3 coats polyurethane sealent to protect the wood. Used some of the old foam and some new foam and put the old covers back on. It was actually a lot simpler than I thought and was under $150 total. So basic old school bolsters are doable pretty easily.

They are actually straight, though my first attempt at upholstery work sucks... I have highback suspension seats waiting to go in this fall for a sitdown conversion.

Guys thanks for the reply's the guy I was helping to find seats has put his project on hold, so if and when he decides to move forward I will bring this thread back up to the top.
In the mean time if anyone else can benifit from what you guys got they are good to move forward. Thanks, Fleg |
