What? You give up on rebuilding yours? What color tags are on your trannys? I have 71c's in mine. And after reading your post about burning a tranny up I actually double checked my fluid in the water before testing yesterday...They took 3/4 of a quart each! Your issue actually saved me.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

I didn't give up, just the ring gear in one of them got some serious heat and I am nervous about reusing it. Hoping I can put my hands on a couple boxes to get me through the season!

you can try calling federal marine in countryside il,,he was the engineer for this trans way back when,,708-352-2200 ask for jim,,if the back of the boat sits dep l;ike fountain boats you need to extend the pick up tube to the rear of the trans so the trans dont starve for oil..he also has parts to rebuild yours..

Thanks to all the replies and offers. I did end up buying a pair from one of the posts. Hopefully they are in good working order! July is half over and it kills me to have the boat sitting on the trailer and the engines sitting in the garage!
