WANTED: 500EFIs, HP500s, possibly 525EFI

If your moving up in power you may want to consider something a lil bit bigger the 500 or 525s
Your not going to notice that much of a difference with that move IMO

Big difference in power from 496 to 525 IMO, keeping in mind most 525's synonym at 540hp.

AJ you boat in fresh water and IMO the only way to justify the price of the 525 over the 500 is the fresh water cooling for the salt water guys. So, I think your money would be better spent on some 540 bulldogs, HP500's or 500EFI's that are built to around 600hp. There's a couple guys selling kits to do this pretty easily.

Realistically 600hp HP500's is what i was aiming for and is probably the most cost effective too. I want to be close to 90mph and with some propping/maybe shorties i should be close. Mike- Budget depends on how soon and exactly which motors they are but for carb id like to be under 20 since im going to have to have some head work and a new cam more than likely. Not in any hurry, done for the season and dont have to have power till spring so the longer i wait, the more money i'll have :lolhit:

Good idea, good to know. Some built 540's would make your boat a real runner! (Save up for gas though!!)

Call Byron Davis for a set of turn key 500 efi he's got an add In the classifieds and is a very honest and reputable builder I got one from him, a little pricey but worth and he will give you a fair price for your old 496s

Pair of 525's in cassifieds now. Old-school but gives ya wiggle room financially so you can pick up some shorties too.

Would like to stick with 502 based motors but who knows...
