WTB - 250 blower kit or 420 Mega Blower kit
Hey guys let me know what you have for sale, I'm looking to pick up an entire kit with carbs if possible.
|
If I can make a suggestion, get a 6-71, way more of them and parts available.

I'm open to a 6-71 or a procharger but, most I find are out of my price range. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm also worried since the 6-71 is taller than the 420 I don't think I'll have the clearance without cutting the hatch. |
6-71 should be pretty close to the same height. Check out dyers superchargers very reasonable prices.

Hey guys I'm still looking for a blower, please keep in mind a new 6-71 is $2800 so if you are asking more than that for a used blower, please understand that I'm going to be offering less.
Homan, if you are willing to come way down on price we can talk. |
There is a complete blower setup that is intercooled on south jersey Craigslist for 3,000. Inter coolers are a must in my opinion on a boat.....
|
Ayars, are you referring to the 420 blower from a HP 600 motor?

Not sure if this is what your looking for but he started at 4500, so maybe he still has room to flex. |

Not sure what the deal is with used blower prices. For what people want for used ones it doesn't make sense to not buy new for $1500 more.
|
imo, go with a bigger blower, more power, less heat and if you are not running the heck out of the boat to get into the boost them you will also do a little better on fuel. something to think about. some of the older blowers are getting harder to find parts for as well.

I've seen used 250 setups with carbs sell from 1500-2500 in the last two months. I look at it like this, a 6-71 new is $2800 plus carbs and flame arrestors so when it's all said and done I'll be in it for at least ~$4000. My goal is to spend half that. |
