525EFI Cam

Building a blown 454 and if I can get one of these, I'll have a pig piece of the puzzle in hand.

Thanks!

If u don't have silent choice try a 741 or u can have someone grind u a cam on same specs as 525. It's a 741 with a 114 lsa. B or u can get one from summitt

Finding a take out is a lot cheaper than having one made. And it's a good match to my 454/B&M 250 project.

I've seen them go for $100 or so on here. Hoping someone will be doing some upgrades over the winter.

It happens. If you happen to come across one, I'd like to be first on your list!

hammerdown500 12-10-2014 12:29 PM

It would be a great cam if I was going without the blower, but I need the wider duration spread and different valve timing for this build.

Thanks!
Tom

Oh please please please!!!

A 525EFI cam for Christmas would be great under my tree!

I have a Gen 6 Comp Cams blower cam out of my 509 efi in excellent shape. With 1.7 rockers, lift is .640 int and .623 ex. 230*/242* duration on 114* lobe sep. I was told by Comp Cams that the 12* separation makes it a good blower cam. Make me a reasonable offer and it is yours!! 813-391-1014 Gary

Does that cam have the stepped nose for the Gen 6 timing set? Also looks like it has a fuel pump lobe, is that correct?

Thanks!

GNJ 12-18-2014 09:14 AM

It has the fuel pump lobe, but not the stepped nose. You would just need to change the cam gear.

You would also need to add a cam button as you can't use the retaining plate without the stepped nose.

TomZ 12-18-2014 12:12 PM

Do you have a cam card for that cam?

GNJ 12-18-2014 03:50 PM

Tomz - The photos show the markings on the cam as 3111B/31113B. Here is the Comp Cam Master Catalog - http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Ca...terCatalog.pdf
Go to page 18 for the cam. These are the lobe numbers which you reference to the master catalog indicating the cam spec.
When I called Comp Cams, they informed me what I'm mentioning here. The N8256-08 number off the cam told them it was ground in 2008. I'll make you a great deal on it. Make me a reasonable offer. It is a good forced induction cam. The "B" at the end of the lobe number, they told me is for Big Block.

TomZ 12-18-2014 10:29 PM

I went and looked up the lobes as soon as I got the pic. :)

I'm trying to get Comp to send me some numbers for that cam. A cam card would be very helpful. Send me a PM with what you're thinking is fair for the cam. Thanks!
