I don't blame you for not including shipping. Youre giving them away as it is.

adk61 01-21-2015 07:18 AM

I could get into 6s for close to that!!!

TomFTM 01-21-2015 08:34 AM

here is a pair on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercury-5-Sp...50a625&vxp=mtr

If you find a set , make sure they have the newer style transom gimble assembly. The earlier ones were from #3 and #4's the gimbel is not as strong as the new style(3a and 5). The ones listed in the ebay ad are the newer style. not saying the older ones are bad , but when your pricing parts the new style is worth more.

I do not know the person selling the drives .

I have everything, minus the transmissions, that you need/want. I was just about to place an ad on OSO. The #5's, 1.5:1 ratio, have just been completely gone thru by Craig Colabella with zero hours since. New propshafts, new lower gear sets. The upper gears were new 5 hours ago so weren't replaced. Full of fluid, pressure checked and ready to run. #5 gimbals the newest style, they are not #3 gimbals, Mercury box's, complete steering and all the thru-hulls. All the nuts, bolts etc. are included. I will even include 2 complete new decal sets for them should you want to change the color of the drives. $22,500 for everything. Give me a call and lets talk. Check the classifieds today, I'm going to post an ad with pictures.

hey tom, how do you determine the old style gimbals vs the newer style?

Tom

FYI the Ron Sporal #5s are not the best for a cat... the skeg has had too much removed from the bottom for a high X dimension application (cat)

adk61 01-21-2015 09:15 AM

Gary's would be better... the 1.50 would need some badass phukin props

adk61 01-21-2015 11:16 AM

Can't go wrong with Gary's stuff... remember ya get what ya pay for... quality is #1 I've been totally satisfied with my purchases thus far, parts are pristine as advertised

Rbesola 01-21-2015 07:09 PM

I remember some one telling me I was dreaming thinking i could get 20k for mine WITH the boxes and steering a couple months ago?

I never said they were a great deal... I just know that if Gary had them done there was no expense spared... his **** is new or just as good as... Craig Colabella doesn't skimp when doing a drive

adk61 01-22-2015 08:47 AM

I don't know about you Kid... but when I buy a hammer at a garage sale I would expect to pay pennies on the dollar, but if I were to buy that same hammer at Home Depot, I'd expect to pay dollar for dollar!!!
point made!! no prejudice intended... :thankyouthankyou:

Cobra100+ 01-22-2015 03:22 PM

Lots of good info and leads here! Thanks guys. TheDonz what drives V's? Im still looking around and considering all f my options. Thanks again as always.

F-2 Speedy 01-22-2015 04:25 PM

Damn Cobra, looks like you hit the lottery

frickstyle 01-22-2015 04:35 PM

I think that deal at $20K for good stuff is a fair deal? Guess it's how bad you want them & if you're willing to pay.

thedonz 01-22-2015 06:21 PM

SSM V. I have them off the Cigarette at the moment while I am refurbishing it. I will be selling the Cig with the drives , new interior but no engines. I will sell the drives now if interested but not once I mount them back on.

Cobra100+ 01-22-2015 07:58 PM

Cobra clean out your inbox

Rbesola 01-23-2015 01:55 AM

Learn from my mistake, mine supposedly had 12 hours on them when i got them and i was happy as could be. First time on the water it wouldnt idle in gear, turns out more teeth were missing than i had. Another 10k later and i had what i was told i was buying. Not saying everybody is selling junk, just do your homework

RMPRam 01-23-2015 09:12 AM

If you have any questions on the #5's that I have, give Craig Colabella a call. They are as advertised. Rbesola is correct, do your homework before you spend that much money.

That sucks...I hate to hear about anyone getting screwed. Thanks for the advice!

Cobra100+ 01-23-2015 10:42 AM

Thanks Gary! Your are definitely at the top of my list.. Inbox is clear.

thedonz 01-23-2015 11:00 AM

I also agree with that advice. Before you make the payment, check out the hardware, or have it checked out on your behalf. It is way easier to back out of a deal than to have to attempt to get your money back.

adk61 01-23-2015 06:25 PM

Cobra... your box is dirty!! very very dirty!! clean it up MR!!!
