Looking to buy 22-24' older boat.
I like the style of a 89 Warlock. Looking for something that needs a motor. BBC set up with a Bravo one drive
|
What are you looking to spend? I will pull my engine and drive out
|
Any interest in a Class 6 OPA racer? 1993 24' Sunsation, 2 seater, Hyd. steering, aluminum trailer, new gauges, $10,000 without engine/drive.

Your not going to hold 6-7 people in a 22-24/7 style of boat. Below is a link to mine, asking 15k now but will sell for less if I keep my engine and drive. You might want to look for a 22-26ft Powerquest if you want room for people.

first off where are you? a free boat costs about 3 grand if it is the wrong side of the country. i know of a 23 regal velocity no motor-drive-transom assy. guy bought it for the bravo setup and it decent and cheap. it is near philadelphia. no trailer also. but 6-7 people you really need open bow in that size boat. a cuddy this size will hold 5 as long as nobody moves...

Try looking at an older ('87-88) formula 242ss. Has larger than you would expect room. Seats 6 comffy with o/s styling.
Good solid riding boat that handles large rivers and close shore slop nicely. P.s. I am partial to these. |

I think I'm looking for something that would push mid 80's with my engine. The 242 is a heavier boat?

What do you have for a motor thats going to push 6 or 7 people mid 80s in a 24 foot single?

This sounds akin to wanting a 1/4" torque wrench adjustable to 200 lb/ft to tighten a 2-1/2" bolt.
1/4" drive = 22'-24' boat 2-1/2" bolt = 6-7 people 200 lb/ft = 80 mph. One or more specs need to be adjusted, i think keep us posted as what you find. Good luck |

we are real good at giving information. sometimes it comes with a touch of attitude. usually it is good information. now you have a 600 hp 509. marine engine or 10.2 second in a 3000 lb car engine?
|
Sweat my boat is complete. 450hp 383. But I believe my price range is right. This boat has a micro lam stringers with stiffeners ever 12" glassed in then gel goated under the deck. It should never delaminate ever.....ever. It runs in the 80s and doesn't twist bend make any noise in the snot. I built it but after all the years building I can't fit my family by the time I was done. I picked up 35 fountain and want to unload velocity. I have 35k into this build but would like 18k for a boat that you can't buy you have to build. Didn't know you have the motor and I'm sure you want to use it. But you can sell either one and try to make up for the loss. My motor all in cost me 12k. I used the boat 5 times........ That's it. It's not even broken in. It's a fast mf

Sweat, sorry, I did not mean the comment disrespectfully, I was merely trying to say I think one of your parameters needs rethinking. Many of us here myself included are interested in learning from those who know and have been down our roads ahead of us. Good luck and keep us posted.
