Nice boat, looks an awful lot like a 24 Pantera
|
Thanks rchevelle71. I had a 24 Pantera and if I'm not mistaken they are the exact same length 23' 6" but the Warlock is slighlty less beamy. The bottom design is different as well. The 24 Pantera is a tank, great rough water boat. I took a friend of mine who's a professional captain out for a ride one time and (after he told me to slow down) he remarked about how well the boat handled the rough water.

They are definitely beautiful boats. I used to admire them when they were new 20+ years ago. Here's one that was on Craigslist for awhile and this is it's second time around on Ebay:

Jammin: any pics of your Sutphen that you could post. Sutphens are beautiful boats as well.

Rob: very nice job. I too love the classic lines and paint jobs, etc.

Today
Got to have this shirt in the rotation...

Matt,
Great find! Looks like it's all stock and all there. Let's hear how it runs. Phil |
Thanks Phil. How've you been? Did you ever sell the 20', that was a beauty. The Warlock should run somewhere in the mid 60's or so but right now I don't believe its propped right for the big number. I have a Ron Hill round ear on it, not sure what size but I think a cleaver is in order for max top end. How is your 26?
|
I've never had much luck with cleavers, they always felt stuck to the water. Simple starting point might be a Mirage or Rev 4, I'm sure the factory has tested everything on these. The 20 is long gone and the 26 is just fine - only it needs more use.

try that again...

Looks great.
I can't beleive the interior is in that good shape. I had the same boat in 87,(blue w/ black bottom), bought it new. It was my favorite boat. i had the most fun I've ever had in that boat. When I got married the wife made me get rid of it and buy a cruiser. The boat is still on our lake looking as good as new, but with a vinyl interior. I loved the material interior, it didn't get hot. The boat was so light in the front, that you could actually pop a wheelie if you goosed the throttle. |
Thanks Bret. The interior is in pretty good shape, some of it was done over and whoever did it did a fantastic job. I have always liked the material and how it looks. The nose of the boat is pretty light, makes lining it up with the trailer at the launch ramp a challenge sometimes with wind and current.

Not many of these lold school Warlock's left out there and only two boats currently for sale in all the USA. One in Nevada and one in Illinois. Supposedly they will run 80MPH with big power.

Just bought an 89 23 WC. Liking it so far, except for the carpeted interior... Boat has a porpose that I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of. Anyone have any thoughts?

You may want to try a bravo 4 blade, my warlock loved a spinelli 4 blade, they don't like props that have bow lift, the 4 blade has tail lift & put the porpus to a min.

Which exhaust worked for you? I will report back with my testing results when the prop gets here. |
the only exhaust I tried was STAINLESS MARINE, nice fit w/ brackets for shift cable & ign module.
