25 sxt performance
New here guys.. HELLO.. have a 24 euro from New still, and finally got my dream after 20 years..an sxt 25.
I am looking to break 100 mph, what realistically can be done without starving my wife and kids all winter long.. It has a 454 . 490 hours on a 365 magnum, reworked heads, STOCK CASTINGS, 850 holley, single plane highrise intakeand a steep cam . Maybe 420 HP tops?? it runs a 26 4 blade @ 78.9 mph. 5800 rpm. I put a Blackhawk with 28's on for a weekend and it did 85.8 @5950 rpm. handling was HORRIBLE with the hawk. any help would be greatly appreciated THANK YOU ! |
You will need a lot more power to start. Excess of 750 or so plus a 2 in shorter drive. What year sxt is it? The early ones were pretty heavy. I always wondered how a blackhawk would run on one. I had a 25 and it was fun. I got to mid 80's with 650 or so. Also I hope you a hydraulic steering you will kill yourself without it.

Well, I am hitting just @ 104-108 MPH with a 540BBC with 14-71 and (2) 850's. and a BMAX..stay away from the shorter drive's on that tunnel..I'm tuned for 91 and run @ 7.5 lbs of boost. Est HP @ 800-850Hp on pump gas running a labbed 28 4 blade.

its a 1990. the hawk is great on top end, but getting up to speed it crabs all over the place and has a tendency to DART severly under 75 mph.
no hydraulic steering yet. |
i just bought my 25 sxt at the end of this summer and so far i think its gnna be a really fun boat. simple, easy to trailer/store, easy to work on.
completely re rigged the entire boat. finished it tonight. new motor, interior, wiring, gauges, etc....all i have left to do is mount my swim platforms....i got a couple that my buddy took off his eliminator. i put my 468 making around 500 hp. -race ported and polished and shaved 990 heads/single plane weiand xcelerator intake (2.25 int/ 1.92 ex -isky roller set -diamond pistons -h beams -steel crank -hei ignition -polished aluminum pulley set (good for at least 100 hp right??? lol) -850 holley -9.5 compression i set it up with an open engine bay (with hatches on the sides) and jet boat style water injected super comp chrome long tube headers. they sound badass. hittin the water tomorrow. runnin a race finish 28p prop on a bravo 1 with nose cone and low water pickup. ive never run this boat before as it was just a hull when i bought it.....any predictions on speed??? lol (ive got my 509 with a b&m 250 ready if its not fast enough. lol) |

its a 1990! its blue black and white. but i think imay wrap it. theres a shop here in town that does some amazing wraps on boats......
how do i post pics to this thread??? |
81- 84 mph.. your going to have to trim into the trailer button a tad for the last few mph.. at least what we do.. I have the red and black color scheme. I will try to get some pics up..
I am not nose coned I have a xr lower with the lower water pickup. I have the 26 4 blade have fun would like to hear the details.. |

http://youtu.be/5bcqKiHT4KI http://youtu.be/kagpGcIUGg8 not fast clips at all, this is when I first took it home 2 years ago. its a 1990 now im thinking,, stupid me if its a 91.. nice screen name I have...LOL |
didnt ge to go yesterday.....but got it on the lake today. forgot my GPS of course. lol wtf
i didnt even stretch it all the way out but it was runnin good. turnin my 28p lab with ease. had a small fuel leak to fix and there is a crack in my brand new thermostat housing so i didnt push it too hard. there was 600 plus pounds of people in the boat and 3/4 tank of fuel in both tanks. im sure we broke 80 and werent pushing it too hard. there was alot more to be hard. i think its gnna run high 80s. my buddies got a 2600 AO turnin the same prop at 6000 and it runs 103. i know its not apples to apples but it should give me an idea till i can get my GPS on it. |
got all my lil issues fixed after my shake down run:
-water leaked fixed. -fuel leak fixed -oil pressure sending unit replaced (it went out first trip out.) ready to hit the water again with my GPS...maybe tomorrow. this damn thing is freakin lllllooouuuudddd! lol these headers sound awesome. even with the baffles in em. |
hit 83 on gps today running a 29 hydromotive.
slick glass water...no wind. 3/4 fuel....530 pounds in boat. |
