Warlock..Going Stronger Then Ever
These guys are kicking ass and building better then ever boats.!!
Its been a great experience to date.No Hassles and quick replies to every detail..color,blueprinting.power,customizing etc. etc. etc. Working with Carter Read on the design and manufacture of this 27 ft. World Class boat has been cool..he has offered valuable insight and improvement to a proven winner in the racing community! Contrary to belief..they are STABLE..Industry standard deposit and the boat is off and started..Actually will be coming in ahead of promised date..:D..They are financially stable in my opinion. I talked with several boat manufacturers and once again Warlock came through..dont get me wrong..all other manufacturers were extremely helpful, professional etc. I must admit I was a little leary, however I am glad I followed my heart and gave my business to them... This will be my third Warlock..I have seen this company go through the good, the bad.and the UGLY..it appears the change was good...I believe the growing pains have made them stronger The detail to date is OUTSTANDING.. I have that warm and fuzzy feeling .."LETS GO RACING" It's great to hear Carter have the excitement back in his voice as he guided me thru the layout process and shared his racing/design experience with me. I will post a few pics as they come along |

Ok Ron, what kinda powerplant/drive/ prop is it gonna have? And, what do you figure top end is potentially gonna be?
Stryker!!! How the hell are ya man??? How's the wife & new addition to the family? I know you've gotta be itching to get back into the water by now!:p |
3 questions
By looking at the pics....is that all the area of the bottom that needs to be worked on? My 27 looks to me like it has a hook all the way out to the edges Hows doing the rigging now that Lance has left? Is Al still there? Thanks Dan |

Thanks Dan Called Carter 2 months ago or so about converting the race boat back to pleasure. Thats the way it was designed. Pull the pod, remount the gauges and put the seating in. Never got a call back. Same old Carter. Same old Warlock. Now the one thing they made which is the absolute best is the full boat cover. 4 years and is still in great shape. Here's some pictures after the boat was re-rigged. A whole lot cleaner than the way it came from the factory. http://www.f148.com/images/DSCN1744.jpg http://www.f148.com/images/DSCN1747.jpg |
Re: Warlock..Going Stronger Then Ever
Looks real clean, nice detail my boat [rons old boat] was rigged with cables to hook up the controls on the driver side that i have hooked up. rigging seems to be okay except the tab washers on the lower jam nut [motor mounts] were not bent up causing major alinement problem that cost me a xz drive with a little over a hundred hours on it.

Re: Warlock..Going Stronger Then Ever
I currently own a 92 sunsation 25' w/ a fresh (22 hours) 460 horse 454 mag that does 75 all day long, my family is growing and i'm tired of getting the hell beat out of me going fast, i am looking into a 29 warlock,or a 288 sunsation, i want to go 80 mph what kind of power do i have to have in that boat to go that fast, i was hoping to find a late 90's early 00 for under $50k is that possible , and also sunsation's customer service is awesome what should i expect from warlock if i jump ship?

Re: Warlock..Going Stronger Then Ever
Your thinking of buying a 4 or 5 year old 29 Warlock for $50k. I'm not sure you would get any customer service out of Warlock. The boat is out of warranty. If you need glass work, there are plenty of glass shops to fix your boat. If you need mechanical work, there are great boat shops to repair mechanical problems. There's nothing special that would require Warlock to be a sole source for a repair.
As far as power, you'll need at least a 525 to do 80 in a 29. |
Re: Warlock..Going Stronger Then Ever
Thanks Flashwave, as far a s cusomer service i ment questions on the boat to be answered, parts readily available to be shiped etc. my sunsation is a 92 i am the third owner , i can call up sunsation and talk to joe 1 of the owners and can pick his brain as far as anything on the boat is concerened , and he will help be to the best of his knowledge ,i do know the 29 world class is an awesome hull, and that why i'm interested init, i heard from a few local warlock owners that carter isn't that way, i still may pursue 1, i have an awesome mechanic who wrencehes on alota boats on this site, Porters Pipedream Racing Phantom and does alota sub work for a local fountain dealer.

Re: Warlock..Going Stronger Then Ever
Hey trimman,
I never had a problem talking to Carter. Wouldn't expect that to be a problem at all. As far as parts, I would look to your local boat shop or mail order house for gauges, pumps, and such. The 29 Worldclass is an awesome boat. In the pleasure configuration there is a lot of room in the seating area. Nice when you have friends and family. I have never heard anyone say they've had any problems with the hull including the racers. If your handy, its pretty easy to maintain, store and tow. You can drop the tabs a tiny bit and stay right those guys claiming they run 100+. Thing is in this boat you can do it until you run out of gas. I havn't met many who will run their boats 100+ for very long. :D |

Re: Warlock..Going Stronger Then Ever
called Carter to talk to him about my 27 that i bought used, took time out to answer my questions and to talk about the setup and prop on the boat ,was very helpfull and nice to talk with, said anytime i had questions to not hesitate to call. :drink:
my 27 with an HO runs 72 , so one with a 525 would top 80, seen a couple of 29's with no cabins run 80 plus with an HP 500. |
Re: Warlock..Going Stronger Then Ever
Thanks guys , i appreciate the info, its nice to know carter is like that the guys i talked to seemd sorta bitter towards warlock. warlocking i need to sell mine first before i can do anything. if i pulled my motor and threw a whipple ,or procharger on i would be at around 600 ponies that would get me where i am looking speed wise, i found a 00 29 in va. for $60k pretty boat.

Re: Warlock..Going Stronger Then Ever
I made an offer on a 27 in PA, should I be worried after reading this thread? I always heard good things about Warlocks quality. It is a 99, is their a difference between Ultimate Warlock and Warlock?
Thanks for the info, any other 27's out there for sale? |
Re: Warlock..Going Stronger Then Ever
The Team BRE 25 Warlock is for sale for $45K.
That thing does 85+. It's a 2001. There's another post in this section about it I think. |
Re: Warlock..Going Stronger Then Ever
I saw that one, looks like a good deal. my last boat was a 25 PQ so I am kinda stuck on moving up a little.

Re: Warlock..Going Stronger Then Ever
Anybody have an idea where I might be able to find a cover for a 2001 29' Warlock, performance/offshore set-up that will allow me to customize the color and make it big enough to accommodate for a large scoop on the back?
