Alright kids.......

Lets set the record straight.

Yes the Marina has\had issues, HOWEVER I watched boats in excess of 30' launching\retrieving this weekend.

I do not have any issues with the marina as a business, but I do believe attitudes create attitudes.

And Tank, there's plenty of performance boats in marina slips this year. Just in our row we have 5-6 new slip renters. Yes, there's still a larger number of toons and cruisers. What they are seriously lacking is 30' plus slips.

I'll do my best to keep you posted as changes happen.

I have noticed a big attitude change this year at the Marina. Happy employees no DB testing no hassles. I launch there with no problems. I do have mufflers but it is borderline. The other choices at Havasu are abysmal.

well, I'm happy to hear the marina owner (and some staff) have down graded their azzhole attitude this year. I'm just basing my observations on the many, many horror stories that have been told since the new guy took over. These stories include,
Boater; "hey, can I get a 30' slip?"
marina; "yea, we have some available"
Boater; "Great, I'd like to have it all summer"
marina; "sure thing. What type of boat?"
Boater; "a 28 Eliminator"
Marina; "Oh, we don't have slips for your type of boat" CLICK

That's just one example. I could go on for days. Matter of fact, a group was looking into a class action lawsuit against the marina. Don't know what happened, but that's how bad it had gotten.

Maybe the ripple effect has finally hit the marina where it hurts (in the pocketbook) and they are forced to change their treatment of performance boaters.

I've never been directly effected by this (never tried to launch the Cig there after the stories I'd heard) but either way, I'm done with those f*ckers! I wont spend a penny at that f*cking marina after hearing how they've f*cked over performance boaters time and time again.

I hear ya brother.....

I do know there's quite a few NEW performance boats in the marina this season. I think they took it pretty hard after desert storm. The city really came down on them.

I'm there at least 2 times a month. The Guy's that work the Marina are all generally good Guy's and if you are respectful to them they will be respectful to you as a whole. I get along with all of them except one, and that says a lot, I'm not the most socially skilled person to ever launch there. The reality is they deal with a lot of very arrogant, drunk, in-your-face types and they get sick and tired of it as you might imagine. I did have a run-in with the Owner early this year - he was very difficult but I rarely see him. I have not seen any DB testing at the Marina but I was stopped by fish and game way down river in the no wake zone and tested and generally harrased more than I should have been but that is not rare for game and fish and we survived and went on our way, no biggie.

Once again as I have said before, we find it to be an incredibly fun lake to run and a unique opportunity to run wide open for 30 miles without concern for a "rogue wave" to upset the boat. There are not many places you can do that, especially aroudn Az, Calif or Nevada. Lot's of other performance boats to "test" with also although recently we don't see people running that fast and less boats in general.

I can tell you this. My friend Levi launched his Formula 419 from the Marina back in '02. No problem with length.
