Shrimp Fest on Saturday

Anyone going? We are putting in at Birdsville boat ramp in Bayo, near smithland. If your going, give me a shout. We will be heading up river to Golconda and staying at the island and having a blast all day.

I'm doing a booze crooze from the Paducah Riverfront that day. I'd almost meet you in Smithland, but we only go about 30-35 mph, sometimes less. How far from Smithland dam is Golconda?

Awesome. We dont go very fast either. From smithland dam, its about a 15-20 minute cruise to Golconda. There's gas pumps at the golconda marina if you need fuel. We are going to the island right across from the marina. The golconda boys have built a new tiki hut and its a great hang out. Tons of boats come down from evansville area. If you send me your email, ill send you a picture of the way you should go to the dam from paducah. Theres a real tricky spot at smithland if youve never been through that way. Itll tear a boat up in a heart beat.

I've been around the island in Smithland before. If we are going to the dam, I'll stay on the illinois side of the island before turning to head to the dam.

What time are you guys heading out?

We will be putting in around 1030 or 11.

I heard about this a few weeks ago. Would like to make the trip sometime.

We're playing music in Johnston City, IL on Fri night, then Robinson, IL on Sat, so we won't be on the water until Sun.

The activities don't extend into Sunday, right?
