Okay...but remember an 18' Wooden Eltro won the Around Long Island marathon overall...and a 16' Glastron won Class honors. If I'm not mistaken a couple of 15 and 16 foot Power Cats won some offshore races as well...... Why not include old OPC hulls at least? The OPC classes were used in the Chicago- New Buffalo race (won by Odell Lewis in Mona Lou I believe) among others, in conjunction with the offshore rules of the day....and small Offshore boats competed in Miami Marine stadium in the old 6 and 9 hour marathons there.

Barry Cohn owned a Switzer Wing (as do I) at one time....and started boat racing in a 16' outboard Rayson Craft.

If we had Carte Blanche to bring whatever we wanted, and make this a Boat Show, I am sure that we could include a great variety of boats including the old outboard boats.

My first win in an offshore race, was out of Newport Rhode Island past the Lightship, on a course to Block Island, in a 14 foot cold molded outboard, photo below. It would be very dear to my heart to bring a boat like that to the show, but that is not the reason we have been invited and that is not what they expect to see.

This is a golden opportunity to educate a lot of people that are serious collectors of racing vehicles and gain a lot of media coverage for our sport.

If this is successful and we are invited back with an expanded presentation, there will be time to add on the very early boats, going all the way back to Gar Wood's boats.
