I'm very interested in a 27 Pachanga and was looking for input from current/past owners. It has the single engine configuration. I have boated for years but this will be my first go-fast. If I do purchase the boat, I will need to tow it quite a distance. I have a 1997 Chevy Tahoe, 4 door 4wd.

Any insight or information would be greatly appreciated.

Good point, the 27' Pachanga is not the quickest of the p-boat group (19, 22, 27, 32). Thats especially true with a single engine, as a matter of fact in the final year of production they didnt even offer the single engine configuration.

Not a bad boat, just not a true go fast boat.

I just bought a 1988 P-27 single and from the factory this is not a go-fast boat (55 m.p.h.) however I know a guy who put a supercharger in his and he is running 67 m.p.h.. So you can always find a way to go fast. I just sold my 22' Pachanga and where I lost speed I gained a huge cockpit and a great cabin!! Also I was in 3 foot chop the other day and it's a awesome hull for rough water!!! Yes the single is not a speed demon but I wouldn't want to feed two big blocks even with gas coming down in price, I chewed 60 gallons in about 4 hours of running hard last week!! Got to pay to play!. Good luck.

Thanks for the input. I figured the 27 would be heavy and you don't see many with the single. My thoughts were the same--I don't really want to feed two big blocks.

I bought mine in Wisconsin and towed her back home to Michigan and she pulled like a dream. I am driving a 2002 Ford Expedition XLT, I am going to install rear airbags though she squats the truck pretty good. Good luck finding your baby I'll keep my eyes peeled for ya!

I really liked that boat, but single power on a 27' Pachanga is a bit underpowered. With that motor thought it could run over 65 mph though.

It looks well taken care of, if I wanted 27' of boat to take care of I would definately consider it. But I decided to keep looking for a 22'.

That P-27 your looking @ is far from underpowered? A Stock one Like mine was suprising, especially out of the hole, I can't wait to get a Procharger M1 and really see what she does. There are plenty of fast 25 ft+ boats running singles just depends on who knows what they are doing!! I wish I could have kept my P-22 and bought the new one, A Boy can dream right? Dreaminbig,service your trans,add a leaf spring in the rear(fairly cheap expense) new fuel filter and don't tow it in OD and you will be just fine. Will be a little under powered in the hills though. Good luck..
