Default Swivel shaft seal

I,m replacing my swivel shaft seal. I've got all the new
bushings in,but the seal is a little baggy in the transom
housing. Any good ideas to seal it in there?

take a center puch and a hammer and peen the machined surfaced that the seal sits in, the metal will slightly expand around where you puch it. do this all the way around and it will tighten up. Just make sure you use some kind of sealer on the outside of the seal when you put it in. Mercy perfect seal works well for this.

I tried that, but its still loose, the seal bore is kind of
tapperd at the bottom. I was thinking of 5200. But I
dont know if it will be strong enough. Also I was thinking
of using some 2 part putty. The kind you can fill aluminum
and drill and tap it. I just dont know if it will get brittle and
fall out.

since you have it apart as far as you do already I would have to recomend pulling the transom plate and sending it to be machined and sleeved or welded and machined. Look for WILDTHINGTAZ here on OSO his real name is Ron Bender and he specializes in rebuilding transom components he may have a better way for you.
