pulling drive question
I feel my port Bravo1 drive broke a shift cable over the weekend and need to pull drive to look/service. Right now the drive is in the forward position. If it is just the cable, do I keep the drive in forward when installing the new cable? or should I manually put drive in neutral then install cable.? or doesn't it matter?

Re: pulling drive question
To get it close I would pull the other drive as well. Put both in neutral, then have the cables match each other as relation to the distance out of the assembly. That should be close. Then just adjust to the center of going into forward or reverse. Maybe GoodT can help better here.

It does'nt matter Jeff, if the cable is broken it will probably just slide out and you won't have to open the jaws on the drive. When you get the new one it should be the same length as the old one was, keep the threads on the adjustment about the same as the old cable was and you'll be in the ballpark. Fine tune it from there.

this is correct but be advised very few inner cables break normally the outer shield gives it up it doesnt really matter what gear the boat is in at this point just pullthe drive.....

Re: pulling drive question
Pulled the drive on Saturday (in fact did both drives for routine maintenance) and indeed had a broken sheath on the shift cable.
Ordering new cable today and will get back together this weekend.
