pulling question, F-250, 5.4l???
Ive spotted a deal on a 99 f-250, superduty with the 5.4l and automatic.
how do these things pull. I haul trailers, occasionally up to 8-9,000 but the boat is 7,000.
would it work, or is it crap?
also, is 145,000 a ton on these engines, or do they last?

I had an F-150 with a 5.4 3.73 rear end and pulled my 25 Outlaw just fine hell if you're not pulling real big stuff that thing will do alright.

My 5.4 super-screw with 3.73 is only marginal pulling my 288, weighing in at around 7,000. Great truck but I would have gone with 4.10 gears, probably make all the difference..

I have a F150 Supercrew FX4 w/ the 5.4 , does great. Of course I'm not pulling anything but my little Baja Hammer, but it tows it just fine. Great engine, I'm very happy.
