Adding ITS
How difficult is it and how much would it cost to add ITS to a current 525EFI bravo XR package? Do you have to remove the motors? What about price of system and labor to install? What has to happen to drive height and X-dimension?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Adding ITS
Yes, you will have to remove the motor(s). The ITS is a transom and replaces the original heavy duty unit. The XR drive is then bolted on to it.
Your next problem will be that by extending your drive 7" rearwards along the line of the driveshaft (your x dimension does not change), you are effectively pushing your drive deeper into the wake of the hull, and that may well slow your boat down. Then you need a shorty!
It all depends on what x you currently run and how it all performs.
The ITS added about 4500$ to the price of the 525/XR package. It will probably cost more when purchased seperately.
I researched this option when I repowered last winter, but I ended up ordering your settup (525/XR) and an Imco ext box with 3" lift and full hydraulic steering ( 5500$). The 3" lift (raised x) compensates for the 12" rearward extension and gave me a 4 mph gain on top of the 10 mph that the motor delivered.
I´m more than happy and somewhat surprised by the performance gain.
