Default HP 500 cam upgrade

wanting to upgrade my Gen VI HP 500 ( carb version ). I have a line on a HP 500 EFI cam ( little bigger )and a HP 525 EFI cam ( alot bigger ) Question: any problem going with an efi cam in an carb application? Will my current lifters work ? ( crane #13532 with tie bars ) will my pushrods work? of course I would like to go with the bigger cam if it doesn't require MAJOR parts, only because I have a big upgrade planned for next winter. Oh ya , I already have cmi headers so reversion shouldn't be a factor.

Reversion won't be an issue but leaky headers will be!

Better make sure the cam has a lobe for the fuel pump if you are not running an electric pump

I'd leave it alone if your gonna be tearing it down next winter. The crane "741" cam works nice. Would also work nice if you decided to supercharge it.

I believe the 525 EFI cam is very close to the 741 with the firing order swap.

The 525EFI cam is a Crane 168741 that is ground with a 114 lob sep instead of the standard 112. It would be a good choice.
