I have a pair of '99 502MPIs.
I've been pulling my hair out with regard to the left motor not want to restart, or breaking up when running.
We just found the problem.
The post was cracked on the water temp guage! It would loose contact when we run in the rough, etc.
How did we find this out???
We figured there was an electrical issue. I hit my fist on the side of the dashboard when the motor was running...and it shut off.
So, time for a new water temp guage, and time to redo all the other connections to ensure a good contact. (tach on the right motor is jumping)
I just thought I'd share..


So, now... why won't my motors run when I try to flush them whail the boat is on the trailer?????
The right motor runs, but is pissed off and wont take throttle. The left motor will only huff and die. Damnit!
