Short stagger vs Full stagger
I'm not talkin' about how drunk you get!
What is the difference? I've got a 34' Super Hawaii with staggered engines. I'd have to measure for sure, but I think my prop shafts are 18" apart. Is this short staggered or full? And what makes the difference?

It's not centre to centre of drives, it's how far ahead one motor is compared to the other.
With only 18 inches between though I would have to think that it would be a full stagger.
Anyone else-- Am I right??

Yes, one engine is completly ahead of the other. Basicly there is enogh room for the drivshaft cover to clear the rear exhaust manifold.

Full stagger is normally 18 inches, short stagger is 24. The port (long) driveshaft on my full stagger boat ends at about the front of the rear engine. My hatches are about 9 feet long!!!
The extra separation of a short stagger is needed to put the engines closer together front to rear, shortening the overall length. The front tranny sits on side of the rear engine- the front engine bellhousing narrowly misses the rear engine.
