Electric/hydralic brake question
For those of you that have them, when you take your boat off the trailer do the brakes want to lock up while parking the trailer without the weight of the boat on it? And,does anyone hear a high pitched hum from the charger for the emergency disconnet battery while it is plugged into the truck? Thanks

No and No. You may have your brake controller set to high. What kind of pump do you have? If it is a brakerite, it will only work correctly with certain brake boxes.

It is the new actibrake with the prodigy controller, We will see how it does soon, I put the boat back on the trailer tomorrow. The little charger still hums though, that makes me wonder!

Re: Electric/hydralic brake question
The instructions that came with my Prodigy state "This control is not designed for use with electric-hydraulic trailer brake systems".
Do they make a Prodigy unit that works with the electric-hydraulic systems?

Re: Electric/hydralic brake question
The guys at Brakerite advised me to get a lower grade box than the prodigy. They said that the pump also has a "brain" and they wil try to out smart each other. Another friend of mine got a new myco trailer and it was doing something similar to yours and I hooked it up to my truck and it worked fine. Changed his controller and it fixed his problem.

Make sure your not getting the black box where all connections are wet, because it will lock up and make a humming noise.Found out the hard way the first time i got my trailer and went to adjust it with the boat on it.

Re: Electric/hydralic brake question
Tekonsha Voyager model is the controller I use for my Eagle trailer. I was told by Eagle it was the only one that would work correctly with my system.
