Your #'s put you at 3% slip, which again is just about impossible,, if you figure a 10% slip your speed is right around 64 which sounds about right,, my speedo is 5-6 mph off also.. I'm sure if you GP's your boat you would find it to be right around 65 + or -

Re: 232 prop ?
All I can say is a fellow boater with a 25 ft outlaw with gps run 65mph wot and we walk away from him at wot.

Re: 232 prop ?
For anyone wanting to calculate TRUE slip numbers (if you have a GPS ) click here http://www.boatramp.com/prop_applet/...erAppletG.html
most of our boats run between 8-12 % slip, so you guys in the 1 % range like I said is just about impossible,, calculate away...

Re: 232 prop ?
Correct me if I'm wrong but if you have a prop labing / cupped don't you have to calc it at a higher pitch?
So if I have a 23 that Huston proper worked on shouldn't I calc with it as a 24/25 pitched prop
Your link only allows me to set pitch at 23 or 27 and speed at 60 or 70 and rpm at 4500 or 5000.
Using 23 / 5000 and 70 - YES you get 3.58% slip
If I use 27 / 5000 and 70 - you get 17.8% slip
So if I was able to use the following number
24 or 25 pitch / 4900 rpm / 69 - 68 MPH would that get me into the low end of your slip bracket 8-12%
Try this site too:

Re: 232 prop ?
Click on the closest # to what your trying to calculate and use the + or - buttons to fine tune,, you certainly can go by 1" pitch increments, 100 rpm increments and 1 mph increments,, just use the plus minus buttons.. You can either calculate slip or mph...
These calculators are just a general rule of thumb type of thing, especially w/ labbed props, BUT,, slip #'s in sub 5% range are just NOT possible, you really need GPS speeds to calculate slip.

Re: 232 prop ?
Like I said fellow boater with GPS 65mph and we walk away (so to speak) with both WOT...68-69 not 64.

Re: 232 prop ?
I come up with the same slip results (12%) with both of those calculators for my boat.
Boatbunny, check you speed with a GPS in YOUR boat and you will see how fast you are actually going.

Absolutely...it helped. My 232 acts like it has alot more horsepower!!!!! The 21p Mirage Woke up my 232. It is running 63mph with a full 76gals of fuel. Midrange has increased dramatically...Thanks For The HELP!!!! Lynn
(why would Baja ever use the 19p on a 232)

So I'm in the same boat as the original poster with a stock 6.2 in my 232. Currently has a 19P from the factory and can do 55 GPS. Is the best option to keep the same prop just go to a 21P? Will 23P be too much, what about moving to a 4-blade? I'm mostly looking for better cruise speed, but getting past 60 GPS would be nice.
