codered,
I just did a major rework on the floor rear seat and engine comp. I cut the seat so you can remove the rear portion in order to work on engine easier, But it still appears stock
yea i put a piano hinge between the seat and back.now i just pull the back cushion and remove 4 bolts and fold foward.

speedbtr,
thanks. it's a piece of 3/16 aluminum, supplier bent it for me.i did it by eye and got lucky on the angle.then hole saw and some bits then paint.it's getting stripped over the winter and powder coated.i pc all the engine parts.

On mine I said once before MROUTBOARDV8, JEB, AND I TOOK A SHEET OF DECOLITE CUT IN A PRO STOCK SCOOP AND GOT RID OF THE LINER AND CRAP ITS LIKE 15LBS AND YOU CAN JUMP ON IT. JUST LOOK AT MY PICS. AND WE MADE IT IN 1996 I AM MAKING A PERMENET REAR AND FRONT BULKHEAD ONE GOING INTO THE CABIN AND ONE WERE THE BACK SEAT WAS .THE SCREWS AND BOLTS FOR THE BACK SEAT HAVE MADE A MESS OUT OF MY BOAT. WITH 650HP GOING TO 700hp OR SO THIS WINTER I might give up ON THE baja and get a blank hull from sutphen, superboat,or joker depends on how the cash flow looks, If that happens I will strip it all the perforance stuff has low hours on it ,the last race I was in was 2002 so we will see. On mine it was never left in the water and there was delam in the floors bulkheads TRASOM LOOKS GOOD ,BUT IT MIGHT BE TIME TO PUT HER OUT TO DRY.

Just got home from the lake. Boat ran well but liked to porpoise. Could not trim the motor up much without blowing the prop out.

the only prop I have tried is a prop from the local marina that Im looking at purchasing. The prop is an Apollo 14” x 22p

not really impressed with the Apollo

Trying a 3 blade next weekend.

Air Time, Is the turbo a 4 blade?

Thanks Speed

Re: 240 Sport Info.

It's a hydromotive and its a 3 blade with a stock drive height the 3 blades seem to run better, but I heard the merc rev 4 in a 23p which is a 4 blade runs good on these boats or a 25P that is labbed BBLADES CAN HOOK YOU UP ON A NEW ONE, hope this helps. never heard of APOLLO

Hi Air Time,

you like the 3 blades better than the 4??? I though 4 blades would make the boat run better all around but the 3 blades are a little faster on top end. have you tried both 3 and 4 blades on this boat?

another question, wind screen - my boat has the windshield and it does nothing to cut the wind. can the boat be changed to a windscreen what would help cutdown on the wind in your face. or have you seen anything that would help.

don't get me wrong, wind in your face is cool for the first hour or so but by the end of the weekend it can get old.

Speed

Re: 240 Sport Info.

Now that I have the shortie drive I need a 4 or 5 blade. The wind think, my faring is shorter than my windshield was I think trick might have some flaps that flip up when you go fast which will help. ME I like my checks flapping in the wind

hi speedboatr

i have a 89 240 sport that i got from my uncle and he made air deflecters out of plexyglass and on top of the windsheld. i can put them on and off in seconds it looks ok but they work great and like i said they are real easy to put on and off. if you would like i can can talk to him and ask all what he did and i could get pics for you to show you what it looks like
