I'm having a hard time understanding part of your original post:
I put half money down for a custom 50 foot trailer.
The boat was at Performance Marine in Florida. Willy knew Pat and the boat and what the boat looked like. I told Willy the only info I had on the weights is 18nrt?
Pat says it feels very heavy and heavy on his trailer.
Willy built me a trailer with 3 –heavy duty 7k axles and said it would be plenty strong.

So you told the guy the boat weighs 18nrt?? Did you know the actuall weight, or were you guessing at it?

A third party says it feels heavy on a trailer?? what exactly does this mean?

What kind of 50ft. boat are we talking about here? It strikes me as odd that any trailer manufacturer wouldnt go out of their way to verify the weight of something that they are building a trailer to transport, especially a 50' boat. WAY to much liability to be guessing. Secondly, I have personally verified the gross weight for every trailer I have had built just to make sure I'm on the same page with the manufacturer.

I'm not saying this is your fault, the guy your dealing with sounds like quite the D Bag, but as your original post reads there was too much guessing from both sides as to what the boat really weighed.

It sounds like a cluster on both sides....

I assume "Willy" is the Trailer Mfg. and Pat is the transporter?

The original post is such a nightmare that anyone removed from the transaction can barely follow it.

Back in 01 I had a trailer built for my Cig by a very reputable mfg. I was in contact with the builder through every step of the build. Ten years later I couldnt be happier with the end result. Shorty after I had my trailer built I met this guy at one of the marinas that we hang out at who was badmouthing the same trailer mfg. every chance he got. In his eyes everything about the product he reccieved was junk. After a few years I sort of became friends with a friend of the guy doing all the badmouthing. Thats when I got the real story. The guy went into the mfg. and demanded a trailer be built as cheap as possible as it was just going to be a yard trailer to take the boat from the ramp to the marina storage building a few miles at low speed every season. Turns out this guy was towing a few hundred miles a year and as you can imagine the trailer didnt hold up well becase it wasnt built for that purpose.

Moral of the story, there are always two, and in most cases three sides to every story.

What, EXACTLY, does your sales agreement say? If you don't have that don't waste any more of your time.

Sounds to me like Willy built the trailer you told him to, and is even willing to fix it(on your dime) now that he knows the correct weight, and refund you the transport Money.

Default MY Brain hurts

sales agreement doesn't state axle type or weight
just a basic decription of the build.

Sorry for some confusion
But it has been quite a pain

I was referred from mike from certifies sales to all American
I had ordered this trailer in 12/02/10 said it would only take 1 week
And be on the road.
Wily is the trailer builder and transporter.
Pat at performance marine stored the boat and has hauled the boat to his location.
Wily did a competitive bid on building and transporting the boat and trailer(combo deal).Willy told me he had talked to pat on weight and noted it was very heavy.
Only info I got from certified was 18nrt weight? Don’t know what that means.

I had put my trust in a builder with his recommendations. I thought he new what he was doing. I was wrong.
when he got the boat to his place he said every thing was good fine.
3 weeks later he says he had bent the axles moving the boat around on the trailer. (I told him it sounds like the axles are junk) he said there fine.
2 more weeks go by and he says he wants to add a 4th axle $$
I told him that the axles don’t seam strong enough he re assured me and said they are fine not to worry this will work.
2 more weeks go by still no word from wily and a many phone calls and messages.
They told me it was ready to go just wanted to know what fender I wanted.
They said that those wont work and went with the plastic one's fine.
Wily said he was all ready to go and loaded and just needed to be paid in full before he leave. I told wily I wanted copies of his permits before he left
I told wily that I needed some king of guarantee but would not agree to any.
But transfer the money so we can leave (so I did)
Tried to nail down a delivery date and arrival time.
Willy would not confirm a delivery date thru the whole process.

Many more phone calls no answer for a week.
I had called mike at certified sale and he got a hold of Bruce and said wily on his way.
A week goes by and finally wily calls and said he had to turn around in Oklahoma
Bent 2 axles.
In Oklahoma he told me he found a weight station and weighed the boat and trailer 30800lbs said he was over weight.
I said wily you told me you had to weigh the boat before you got permits? lie
I feel he never left to deliver the boat he just waited got all of his money
And now is asking for more/when does it end!
I did some searching for axles he said I had Dexter axles later he says I have Knox axles?
Last wed day he tells me it was in Alabama that bent the axles not Oklahoma?
He can’t even keep his story straight.
wishing for a solution

I would not have sent the $$ until I saw the permits. I do not know Willy, But I do know several people he has built trailers for with no issues.
