Marco: You are really good/great with history, That`s correct about the triple engine Bertram and Johnny Bakos, and how about the name, as I was saying. I was in the race with my own Merc. factory boat, I got lost and had an embarrassing DNF I was just a kid, my compass went out, I panicked, and they had everyone out looking for me. When they found me, they dropped a new compass and chart to get back to Lucaya. I was so embarrassed, Kiek didn`t think much of the deal either, never the less he gave me a boat for the next race we all went to, so he had faith. 7XCHAMP
You repayed Carl soon the reliable give.

Here the last of the Mona Lou's saga;1969's Bahamas 500,Odell Lewis was forced to retire from the competitions because him spine problems and that Bertram 31' (the second or third of him) was drove by Sirois that finished close to close with Aronow like Bill and Odell the year before.
This Bertram wasn't the former red one.

Was the same white one that Wishnick drove in 1966 with a couple of H&M-Ford turbocharged.
It was the former original Wynne's Maritime of 1965 and a sister boat of those Odell Lewis's Mona Lou II and III.
The M.L.II still powered with two P&W turbines was the former Thunderbird of Jim Wynne,World Champ in 1966.

Bertram 31?
The diatribe from 1976 says 28ft Souter with a single mercruiser as raced in Australia.
Well,it ain`t Ghost Rider,that`s for sure!!!!!
An ex-Mona Lou?
Maybe our Slingshot contributor can throw some light on this?

The boat seems to be smaller. A 28 'maybe.
The stern reminds me that of a Barcone. Remember the first Benihana in 1974?
