    Wiring New Bravo Trim Pump/Old Formula

    OK...boat is '79 Formula Liberator withe wiring set up for twin "old style" Pre-Alpha trim pumps. I am upgrading to Bravo and have Transom Assemblies and Trim Pumps from 2008 38' Baja Outlaw.

    Need some help wiring the old pig tail to the new pumps.

    I would use a test light first to determine which wire in the harness is which when pressing the switch either up or down! After that the rest is easy! A little trick to remember which color wire coming out of the pump is for up vs. down. The blue is up like the sky, the green is down like the grassy ground and of course the black is ground!!

    i thought they were pretty standard. purple and blue up (blue trailer-purple trim) and green down. it might also be a good time to upgrade the switches anyway. not much else in that boat is left from the seventies...

    That's a very good point. Once I sort out operations in the bilge...the helm is the next frontier.
