Default Outboard help

I believe this is the place where I might get the right answer, I have a 30' ChrisCat with twin 3.0 Mercury ProMax Magnums, 300HP. I currently have the left hand drive on the starboard side, I have been told conflicting things about placement, the boat runs well but is there more by putting the left hand drives on the Port side.

the drives turning in create transom lift (as they are now). if you swap them they would be turning out and you would get bow lift.

Thanks for all the info, UP ROKTOY I read both the forums and it boiled down to the boat (mine is heavy) and how fast you want to go. Right now it's at 85 MPH and handles very well but we must remember that I only run on the small lakes and bays around Michigan, no big waves, it does like 1 to 3 footers. I am waiting to get back my props from Hydromotive this week, the final adjustment. I am happy with 85 because the cruise with the 4 blades is great, I should now max out at 90 or 95 which is fine. But next year I am trying both ways when everything will be fresh. On the turns it is great very nice side slip without digging in, of course this is pleasure not racing, I really appreciate all the info and look forward to next year.

I forgot to say I have hyd. Jack plates and the standoff boxes and the motors are far apart, can't get the in close because of the tunnel, I am sure this has an effect, also have trim tabs, haven't used them yet but it sure gives me a lot of ways to test.
Thanks again

Good luck with the new props

I can't offer any personal experience on the in vs out thing, but I had read that thread and thought it was good information. Hopefully it was.

keep an eye out for me next summer....

I am up and down the channels and bouncing around the lake pretty often.
