Amsoil is rated to handle up to 10% water in the oil and still have the same viscosity.
If its a stock motor up to 500hp I would use the Merc,But its probably higher that the amsoil.
A thing I was told to think about,In High horsepower there is not a oil that will stay between the lower gear set teeth, the oil with enough pressure/TQ will push the oil out and brenieling will start,thats eating/pitting the face of the gear,thru the hardness then the gear is soft,then ya chunk teeth off,
ArticFriends Smitty is having better luck with what he is doing to the lower gear set.
