Default Difference between Bravo gearcases?

A guy at our marina, is planning on buying a set of Mercury shorty cases without parts, he has been offered cheap. He's running B3 drives, and wants to raise the prop hight on hes Cobalt. To me the idea sounds silly, but I don't wanna argue, that is hes money and hes choice. The question is. Will the B3 parts fit in the XR shorty, like the B1 parts will? To my knowledge it won't, but I'm not big on knowledge when it comes to B3 lowers. If anything, he should probably run them as B1's instead of B3's, if he chooses to do it? I know the cav plate is longer, but that he wants to solve by having a longer plate made. I think it's a bad idea, but just trying to offer a bit of help so he dosen't screw up everything and looses hes money.

Thanks guys.

I think you are right and if he is going to move forward with the project he better just run them as bravo ones. I think if he tries to go the other way he is headed for trouble and a lot of wasted money!

OK. Update time.

I managed to talk him out of it last evening. I honestly think that is the best.

If the mods can delete this thread, be my guest. I find it rather useless at this point.
