Congrats on the new engines!!
They will last a little while but eventually you will get tired of rebuilding them. Don't touch them untill they break. The older gears are better then the newer junk XR gears. You can do every piece of advice given on here and STILL break your drives, and it happens to XR's behind stock 525s.
Buy good used matching bravo drives and just swap out when you break them.
Keep a spare drive ready to go.

Save your money for Arneson, Imco SCX, BMax, etc.
XR's are a waste of money IMO. They are not much better then what you have, especially the newer junk gears. Now if you start having bearing or prop shaft problems then yes, but I suspect you will just plain wear out your gears. And the only way to stop that is to upgrade to a larger stronger drive!
