Default OMC Cobra outdrive lube filling

I am having a hard time getting straight answers on this subject so any and all help would be great!!! The outfit I had rebuild my drive says (unit is already drained)
1. fill from the bottom hole up to mid point
2. once lube is coming out mid point place plug back in mid point.
3. with the top dipstick plug resting in the hole pump up to the tip
4. from there screw in dip stick and check level
5. if level is good place dipstick in tightly and place plug in the very bottom of case.

OMC factory trained mechanic that was trained by OMC School in Waukeegan
1. fill from bottom to mid point until lube is coming out mid point
2. tighten top dipstick plug place and tighten mid point plug snug
3. once vaccum is created by line #2 pull pump and place bottom case plug in and tighten
4. pull top case dipstick plug until its resting in hole to allow air to escape
5. pull midpoint plug again and insert lube pump
6. pump case up to tip of dipstick to get you close
7. screw dipstick in fully and check level
8. if level is good place dipstick in to tourqe spec/ if not pull and slowly add oil in small increments
9. once case is to the recommended fill replace dipstick to torque spec
10. quickly pull pump and place mid point screw in case to torque spec
11. re-check case level from dipstick.
I would really like someone to clarify this for me once and for all. I am apt to think the OMC mechanic has it right!!!!!!

I replied to your post before and instead answering another PM please listen TO ME. Once again read post number 33 in the link / thread below.

if you have some one filling OEM stock OMC cobra's outdrives from the bottom up YOU NEED TO FIND ANOTHER SERVICE as they do not know what they are doing. I do not care how great of a name they have. Back in the day my shop was OMC sterndrive certified completely plus attended all the schools including the outdrive classes year in and year out. Never missed one. .

read the link below. and post # 33 - you do not fill OMC cobra's from the bottom up period. If so your drive will not live and you are experiences the failures because of it.

Info - Straight out of the OEM - OMC cobra service manual so this will set the record straight without any arguments so read all info, even about filling the outdrive too fast as that applies to all outdrives that can create an air bubble as well.. Follow these instructions to a T for all OEM - OMC cobra's..

This thread is in the wrong section as it should be posted in the drives section.

I do know a few only that possible are rebuilding OMC Cobra's and one company that might even have brand new. I would have to check on it.
