If you pick up a 3' backing disk you should also get a two inch one as well. As you use up the three inchers cut them down to the twos.

thats the hard disk one?? that will eat thru stuff quickly but you wont have much finesse with it for feathering etc.. depending on what your doingyou may get buy with it..watch the fingers, those things can bite (don't ask me how I know this )

I picked up a two inch backing disc since my compressor is smaller and it will take less air to move 2" comapred to 3". I may pick up a 3" this weekend.

It is not the the hard disc one. It has the rubber backing plate and the "twist lock" abrasive discs in all grits. I did not get a hard disc grinder for the reason you mentioed
