Replacing Cabin "Mood" lights--12v Flourescents
My 1986 357SR-1 has 12 volt flourescent lights behind the valences on each side of the cabin. Formula calls them "Mood Lights". Four of the six have failed--replacing the bulbs wasn't the answer--something in the 120v to 12 v circuit boards on the lamps has taken a dump.
I don't think there is much "mood" from flourescents and I don't think the 12v rope lights are much better.
What have people used to replace those? Or am I missing something and there really isn't anything wrong with the lamps?

I can't tell you about how they work but I replaced mine with 12 inches fluorescent, from car industrie (show car). you can get some in different color, such as red, blue, green or yellow. Check out at your closest fast and furious shop, if you don't find this, send me an e-mail, I'll let you know the prize. We do have a speed shop. see www.concepsonautosport.qc.ca
If you need pictures, I'll try to get some even if the engines and batteries are out of the boat, I would try to make them light.
