Well finally got boat out of the water today and to my surprise the starboard outdrive was worse than I thought. A nice hole right through the side of the lower unit, about the size of a quarter.
So now I need a new outdrive. Maybe I'll break down and buy a set of Konrads. Who out there is giving the best prices, and is there anyone local to RI or is there only one place to buy them.

I have a complete LH TRS. The drive was purchased in 2004 from FRED CECIL (TRICK MARINE) The drive is complete freshwater. I changed over to Konrads. The drive was used on Cayuga Lake. I also have the Upper housing for a TRS. I sold all of my other parts. The drive was checked out by sterndrive specialists in upstate NY. The drive oil is changed every `15 hours of use with mercury high performance lube.

We've got great deals on Konrads, give me a call or email and I'll send you the details. The conversion is painless and you'll be able to sleep for once knowing that you will never have to worry about a drive failure again.
We run them on our own Fountain and have had no problems after hundreds of hours of hard use.

I clipped and pasted the web site you have for the trs outdrive and it takes me to e-bay but your drive isn't listed, just a couple of gasket kits. Question is the rotation in the transmission or the outdrive. Does it really matter left or right on the outdrive. the one that I blew turns clock wise, but I'm not sure if there is a difference between the two. are there any experts out there that can tell me.

Do the motors need to be pulled, or do they bolt up to the gimbals of the trs
Before I commit to calling for the konrad drives what kind of money are we talking for a direct replacement of both drives. I heard of prices form 16000 to 22000 seems like the prices are all over the place.

I normally use clockwise (right) and counter clockwise (left) rotation for the actual way the prop shaft turns when viewed from the rear when the transmission is in forward.
But like I said above, check the prop shaft it is labled. The way you have described it. It sounds like the LH and that is the one I am selling.
