Re: 88 272 switches
Hey guys.....keep one thing in mind when you proceed with changing the switches on your Formula....
There are a couple of unique features. First, each is "load-rated" for the circuit that it operates. Essentially, each of the switches is "overload protected"....which in essence makes each one an automatically resetting circuit breaker in the event of a circuit overheat.....like leaving the bilge on and forgetting.
I just replaced a few in my 357SR-1, and was quite surprised to find that Formula has them.....17yrs after my boat was built!! Tip-lit in red, just like original with a stainless (but powder coated black) retainer screw.
Now the crazy part....the switches were about $12 each. That is the first time I EVER purchased something from the "Steal-er-ship" and didn't leave with a funny walk.....
Final note....I tormented over the idea of changing them completely and going with the newer, ergonomically styled rockers, but Formula told the guy at Walkers Marine that the older ones are better.....

$12 . That's worth buying a few just to have in case of emergency. Don't ya hate it when you break something Sunday and miss the following weekend too because "the part hasn't come in yet". I even have a spare drive
