You have to understand the circumstances. This was registered on a gps. It was a strong current and a pretty brisk wind in the same direction as the current and don't forget, the opposite direction was only 78 mph. I saved the recall of 84 on my gps. Believe what you want, it happened.

Hell, I'm impressed with 78mph numbers for a 502 against current and wind. You are getting some impressive numbers.

These props are stamped 30 pitch. BBlades reworked the props to perform like true 28 pitch props. Based on that, I calculate the slip on the 84 mph run at 8.62% and on the 78 mph run at 15.14% for an average slip of 11.88%.
I have been told by my certified Mercury mechanic that some 502 Mag's rev limiters were set at 5050 and some were set at 5200 rpm's. I bought the boat used a few years ago. My previous boat had a 502 Mag and it hit the rev limiter at 5050 rpm's. This boat hits it at 5200.

I wish I could get my slip as low as yours, maybe my stelling ext. boxes are too high. might try to lower them one hole, Throttle up worked my 28 Q4's to a 29, I still tach out at 5200 rpm's with 500 efi's

I did not know about the 2 different rev limits, my book showed the 502 mags with stamped rocker arms rev limit was 5080.rpms. still your boat runs strong, your 502;s must be putting out about 475 hp each to push your boat that fast.

no, but I am looking for some 30 pitch bravo1's to try, my boat was rerigged by Leon at Derberry marine, he installed the 500efi's and put the boxes on it, I bought the boat from the person that had all the work done on it, he moved on to a cruiser
