New Boat

Because you will pass all of those other ones if they are similarly powered or even packing a little more engine than a 29 beak. 288's are very nice boats and Scarabs are pretty cool too. Hard to get a newer 525 powered Fountain for under 60k though. Regardless of what others may say about their rough water ability, they can run just as fast or faster in rough water vs a lot of other boats around their size. Won't be as comfy though...A Fountain will hold better value over the long term vs the others as well. Happy hunting!

We could tell you all day the reasons but what it boils down to is what your priorities are in a boat, the fountain will hold better value and has a better more efficient hull than the rest listed but drive them all then make your choice! 9 years ago I had a long list of boats I wanted and was coming out of a 25 Checkmate Convincer After My Wife and I drove a Fountain There was only One Choice!!!

Did you realize that none of the other boats you listed have any kind of racing program currently?
Scarabs are old tech, and no longer being made... bad for performance and resale!
Baja's have never had a competitive hull for racing... a wanna be offshore brand.
Sunsation: regional boat, not recognized globally, also questionable quality issues in there history.
Powerquest, like 4Winns, heavy and sturdy, not so fast but look like offshore boats... another regionally-known boat.
So, do you want performance and resale, or do you just want something cheap that looks good on a trailer?

PS. my first "offshore" boat was a SeaRay Pachanga 32...
....wow, did I get a quick education on showroom performance, vs on the water performance!!!

Everone will have their own preference, some price, some performance, some, what fit their budget at the time. The bottom line is to try to drive or ride in as many as possible. That will narrow down the choices quickly.
