Question 47 With triples overheating

I took my Fountain out yesterday for a "shake-down cruise" after 4 months of winter storage. The motors started fine but after 15 minutes all three overheated. I let them cool but it happened again. I then lost water pressure in all three. I can't believe all three lost pumps simultaneously. Anyone have this happen?

hard to believe but I'd also look at impeller... maybe you could have sucked sand when launching / docking the boat just before your shake down?

thanks. There was some silt in the water after I launched. I'll check the impellers.

That wasn't you up at North Point Marina was it?
Anyway, if you winterized it with the pink stuff that has alcohol in it you might have did in the impellers a bit...how old are they? and of course that sand might have helped too.

Lost water pressure/over heating, water impeller. All three at same time??? I would call who ever did your winterizing?? Maybe they used something that disolved the impellers?? Just an idea

All that being said when was the last time you replaced the impellers??

It was me at North Point. I replaced the impellers last year. They really weren't that bad but I replaced all three and the housings in the middle of the season before a long trip and they worked fine. I didn't use the pink stuff. I also kept the building at 60 degrees all winter and never lost heat.

Also, check those"plumber faucets" that switch the flow of water when you winterize. MIne got stuck partially closed, and the same thing occurred as you mentioned... overheating in no time. Tyler Crockett figured it out: He hooked the water up to the boat like normal, but no water was then flowing out the exhaust. He dismantled the faucet, reset it, and good as new afterwards. Three impellers sounds unbelievable.
