Default 42 Executioner 05 with 1075's and sixes

I am thinking of ordering a 42 Executioner with 1075's and # 6s Does any one know how this combo will handle and what sort of top end performance i should expect.

Thanks for your comments

A friend of mine has one with 1200 Sterlings and 6's and it does about 120 light. It is scary fast, idles well, and is fairly quiet, it is a very nice package. I'm sure the 1075 package would be comparable.

Not sure where I heard this but I thought the problem with the 1075's was that they were biggers than the 900's because of all the plumbing and stuff. The new 42 Lightnings have a slightly larger engine compartments for that reason.

Sounds like it would be a great boat if they make it. And for that kind of money, I am sure they could make it fit.

I was on the 42 w/ 1075's that was at the Miami show this past Feb. AWESOME.

Nuff Said.

There is a problem with the fuel system losing prime though. It was a major PIA.

from what i have seen with 1075's i would run to sterling or teague or eichert
hydraulicing / blowers blowin up + issues etc,, get some sterling,, teague or eichert motors.. prob cheaper better and less issues.. for now anyway.. they have to work out the bugs and i would hate to be the guinie pig and have my chit broke, especially when u spend that kinda dough

i want a badass 42 also but i think that merc needs to figure out the issues with bearings in the blowers fuel issues etc... so to do it i would look at other motor builders,

Jonas has a very good point. From all the 1075 owners that I've talked to, they say when the engines are runnin fine they're great. But, when you have a problem with one, there is usually no one that can service it or know what is creating the problem.
That 1075 sounds way too complicated. Too many places for errors, with not enough people with EXPERIENCE to correct them.

Reggie told me he would sell them with #6's and 496's or 525's, and pull the engines, sell them, (they have transferable warranties for 3 yrs) and install your own power. That's probably the best way to go.

Lake cumberland marine has the 42 that was in the Miami Boat show last year. I heard the boat runs 121 on gps. The only issue with the 1075 is that Mercury wants the motors back at 40 hrs. to rebuild them. My son was in a 42 OL with Bob Russell and their was a 46 ruff rider cig. at Miami last year that had over 90 hrs on it. Great motors if you dont boat alot of hrs.

Thanks everyone for their input on this. I think I might wait a bit for Mercury to get the bugs out of the 1075's. I think I might go to Teague or maybe Tyler Crockett for some engines.

Thanks
Again
