Re: Ethical situation...
Maybe it is a Pantera, and the serial # just doesn't add up. FYI maybe it is someone elses Pantera with a switched or made up VIN?????? Lets face it how many boats get stolen?? wouldn't take a genius to make a new Vin and dump it for quick sale and run??

Re: Ethical situation...
I would tell my friend so that he doesn't end up being the last one to know and look like an idiot.
He didn't pay jack. Looks like it floats.
He can probably still go boating.

And I hope you think of me as an OSO brother, just not some dude.
I think if this boat was purchase by an OSO member, people would have jumped to tell him the truth.
But I am surprised by the results of the poll, I thought most guys would have said, "let him enjoy what he's got."
I thought, from this post, that most of you would have said I would be telling him just for personal reasons, to make me feel better about my purchase.

I also think that most OSO members are brutally honest, and they put themselves in the postion of the other guy.
I thought "would I want to know.... even if I realized that I had just experienced part of my learning curve?"
Yeah. I would want to know.

Re: Ethical situation...
I would say tell him. Start with "Hey it's a great boat..." but if you don't tell him, he could have a real problem when it comes time for him to sell it.
