ac in a cig

So if i want ac in my cig how do i go about it, I assume that i will need a generator mounted in the engine compartment but does the ac unit go in there to or is it in the cabin?
Is there a factory setup for the generator?
Since i was use to having a bimini top on the old boat for shade and have not seen one for the cig i figured ac would would be the next best thing to get out of the heat while parked.

Re: ac in a cig

my ac is in the cabin but there are some ac units that mount in the engine compartment & the evap core & vent gets mounted in the cabin. it's alot easier to mount the all in one
type in a boat thats already completed.

Look at the unit they put into Concepts. No gen needed it runs off of cool water in a cooler. Saw one in Key west and it worked great.

Re: ac in a cig

I have friends that use the carry on portable units that sit on the deck when parked at the marina docks...they mount over the hatches....they seem to work well.....Fred

Check Mermaid Marine Air--they have excellent h/w and it has smallest footprint of any of them. The cpmay also has a cool product called Condensator--it uses the cooling water to pull the condensate overboard rahter than dumping it in the bilge.

They are in Ft Meyers
