Cool Re: Speedboat magazine

Looks like a good start for Boating, but four issues a year for 2006 is not exciting. Also as a manufacturer who advertises in many magazines I can tell you their addd rates are way to steep! for our blood especially for four issues a year! Just like Boating magazine most small/medium advertisers don't get the best return for their advertising dollar!

when you have a tech section that talks about blue printing a 23' baja, the editors have got to be out of their ****ing mind.
Funny, when I read it, the boat was a 22' Scarab.

nothing beats the net... why read about something 3-6 months later in a magazine? especially a quarterly one? they will be 5 months or more behind on anything that happens in the marine industry.. don't get me wrong, i subscribe to all of them, but i don't do it for the knowledge, just something to look at i guess... give me extreme mag anytime.... no deck boats, ski boats or any other crap like that...

For a 1/3 page color add is less than Grand that is a good deal any way you put it.

A booth at a trade show costs you twice that@@@@

I called the editor at Boating Magazine and was told that the inaugural July issue was to "test the waters" and that a follow up issue would be released in early '06. I liked the magazine and accuracy of their technical articles, and am tired of the porn passed off as media in Hot Boat.

and I hope to die in Florida! Been trying to get the wife to move for years, hate the cold and we have 8 months of it. Been big Fin s fan for 20+ years and not too popular up here with the long time rivalery. Enjoyed the hell out of game Sunday!
