Re: Seatow Or Boat Us
There isn't a single encompassing answer to this, as I've found out that the representation by either company is highly dependant on the location. Just keep a good eye on which boats you see most next time your out to sort of guage which might be a better choice.
In my area, Boat-US has more boats and more stations close to where I boat.
Also, each local tow operation is independantly owned and operated, so the behavior and manner of each tow captain may not necessarily accurately reflect upon either organization as a whole.
On a final note, I've been a Boat-US member for many years now and enjoy their publications and appreciate the work that they do for the boating community - the organization as a whole does a tremendous amount for boaters, both locally and nationally via their government affairs and has been for over 40 years. That's where I like to give my support.

Re: Seatow Or Boat Us
I boat on table rock lake MO. For seatow to help you there it is $130. Ironically it is also $130 for a year membership. I have never had a problem just flagging somebody over for a tow....did it last Saturday. From what I understand, our seatow guy makes most of his money salvaging sunken boats. I think he get 10% of the salvage value.
