We get it here on Long Islands south shore also anyone with $6000 can go 60mphs.....decapatations,neck injuries, amputated limbs, stoved in faces, etc....not to mention the mental trauma to the boater who gets involved in these unfortunate encounters WTF ? ERIC There is plenty of ocean for everyone, stop f'ing around....

I feel for all parties involved it has to be a horrible experience. I own personal watercraft as well as a powerboat. Stupid people drive all of the above. I have been cut off by cruisers, powerboats and personal watercraft. I know plenty of Dumb A$$es with a ton of money that can buy any boat they want and cut people off all day on the lake. Everyone needs to take responsibility for their actions on the water and land.

I drive my boat in such a way that jet ski will never
get within 30 ft of it.

Or, if I am in situation where it is impossible for me
to do that, I throttle down and go to neutral.

It's simple, a vessel not under way has the right of
way. Should the idiot hit me while I'm in neutral the
fault should be clear.

Responsible PWC riders are fine. The problem is that many don't follow the rules and they often don't look before turning. Some also over estimate the top speed of their craft and try to race. I just speed up to get away from them. I love riding jet skis but I am always looking around, just as I do when driving my boat. I don't hate them. They are lots of fun but they don't belong in the hands of a rider who has no clue about boating.

Your saying its better because its cheaper to kill yourself on a jet ski? I don't think you are going to persuade peeps here to talk nicely about PWCs, although its not the PWC its the idiot driver.

no I'm saying its the driver. but there are terrible drivers on both.
