Get charts, learn them well. Rinse everything with fresh water, wd-40 and wipe down everything in your engine compartment.
Salt water boating definately requires more cleanup maintenance unless you can throw the boat away every two years.

You'll be fine. I've been boating in saltwater for 10 years, no problems thus far. The worst problem is that you may gain a little speed. :)

Florida's peculiar in that is harbors many shallows, so you have to know your way around first.

A good coat of wax will help and flush, flush, flush when you're done. Buy some salt away and you're all set!

Salt water is not really not all that bad it just takes longer to put it away. Several years back I went for a ride on Lake Lanier. We came back & put the boat back on the hoist. Was amazed that 30 minutes later the boat was all washed & tucked away. Normally it would take me at least 2 hours to do this. Make sure you flush out the bildge with fresh water. When salt water sits in the engine compartment the evaporation of the salt will create corrosion throughout.

What temperature are your thermostats. I was told 142 degrees or lower for salt water. I am sure the FLA guys can give you more info.

Yes... if you are running raw water through the engine you must keep the temps under 150 or the salt will dissolve your engine quickly.
