Like many of you I don't know why anyone would waste their time to do something like that. But I do not agree with not being honest up front with your insurance company either. Nothing good comes from that.

I'm surprised the insurance company would even pay attention to someone other then the policy holder, and even if it was posted here on OSO how did they connect the dots?

I guess the owner was in the wrong or they would not have canceled the coverage.

Kind of wierd?

Process of elimination. It wasn't me.

Gotta throw this out there. Why bother even getting insurance, paying your monthly/yearly premium if you are going to lie about the info that would be a reason to have your policy canceled anyways? OR would the top end only be a factor for those occasions where speed is a matter, not something like sinking while tied up at the dock. Just curious.

This is 1 of the reasons I am more than truthfull about this stuff and error on the safe side. Can't afford to be denied coverage for a major claim in order to save a few $$ up front.

I don't get it my sports car will do 170,insurance not much more than my F-350?????
How often do we ride at WOT?If I get in a boat accident running 100 and I claimed it ran 140 but really runs 150 should the insurance company still cover?
Seems to me there always looking for a way out,I call it money collection!!!

Yep.

I don't think anyone was lying to the insurance Co.
Come on, if I'm based that my boat is a 65 mph boat - and I change props, and do some blueprinting - maybe I can get 71. Do I need to call my Ins. and let them know my boat is faster now?? After all, I'm over that 70 mark now
