Default Future Boat Help

Hello,
Just wanted to bring it up. I am planning on building my own boat, I would like to see what you guys think. I was thinking a skater with twin outboards or a elim with twin inboards but I would like to try to get 135-140 out of this. What setup would you guys think would be nice without breaking the bank, I am still young this is just planning stage. I am 18 years old, I work oil rigs so I make enough money hopefully one day to own a nice boat and a house.

135-140 is a awfully big number. What are you thinking a 19 eliminator with twin worked 2.5s?

I was thinking a 28 foot elim. I am not sure yet, just planning. I like the looks and sound of the twin 300 skaters outboard but no one works on them around here, I am not that good of a mech yet. Would love to learn but here in kelowna no one really has these sick boats only couple.

I'm thinking that if you get this 135mph+ boat when you're 19, that you won't make it to 20.

I am thinking when I am 21, working alberta oil sands at 18 I bring in 70 a year as a roughneck. When I am 24 I will be the driller or toolpush which will bring me in 200plus a year. When i go overseas with my company I will make 30grand a month so I am just planning out a boat. Plus i have been walking my dads marina docks since I was 5 years old, Riding jetskis at 7 driving boats when 10.

Boats aren't like cars... heck, 50MPH is fast on a boat.

130 MPH is probably equal to 200+ in a car.

If you don't have the experience, start with something slower to get the experience. 100+ is way to fast to be going if you aren't 100% confident with the setup and all the mechanics of the boat.

I don't think twins on that size boat will get you there. But chances are pretty good twin 300's will be fast enough for a long while.
God bless,
Jim

Right now, I own a larson senza 06. I love it for just playing around, but now I want something eles for future. I really like the skater with twin outboards. I see you can get them for around 75grand for 2001-2002 area that is not bad. Anyone know the price of them new? I know someone on this lake with a elim 28 ft with twin 700 customs he got that for 300grand u.s.
