Thanks ahead of time for your input.
I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a boat and wanted to get some input on which of these 2 boats are the best bang for the buck. I have narrowed my search down to these 2 based on what I want in a boat: safety, speed, creature comforts.......roomy cabin and cockpit (we overnight a few times a year) towable, large sunpad, dependability, RESALE VALUE, etc. Both boats have 525's and I have been told that they should run easily in the mid 80's. Thoughts? |

Formula 353 for sure...!

unlimited marine has a few used flames. My buddy has a 2001 he might be selling with 500efis. The flame is by far much faster. The formula is a great old man boat if you want to cruise. The nordic is much bigger in person than the formula also. Go look at both in person and you will see the difference.

hmmmm... Now I may be biased, but have you spent any time in both boats for comparison? You seem to be focused on creature comforts with the occasional overnight. We crawled around a lot of boats before choosing a Formula. Does the Nordic offer a bimini with full enclosure? I strongly suggest riding and driving both before making a decision. These Formulas are pretty comfortable, both in ride and interior!!:cool-smiley-011:

Formula Builds Very Very Good Boats.

Look At The Construction Of Both Boats And Read About Them. I Look At Both Boats And See No Comparison Execpt They Both Float.

Nordic pluses - speed and sexiness Nordic minuses - lots of wood, not as refined, not a great rough water boat Formula pluses - ride, comfort, luxury, construction Formula minuses - not a fast hull, more sedate looks |
We have a 382 with 600's and there is a 353 with 525s on our lake. We top out at about 85 gps and that 353 was right there with us, maybe 1-3mph back. It will for sure hit 80, esp with a light load. We got our Formula because of the nice cabin. We have gen, a/c, and vacuflush. Dont do as many overnights in it as we thought we would, the Regal is much better for that. We are thinking of getting out of the Formula into a boat more for speed and rough water rather than cabin comfort. The Formula is a great boat though

The new flame is wood free and also available in carbon fiber and kevlar. I would do some research before opening your mouth.
